Elections - Andhra pradesh

Hmm,

I would like to record how my first experience of Voting in elections ended. The regular bangalore kacheguda train got delayed by another 1 hour close to, and this being Summer, Sunrise already happened and it was already hot. From station i went straight to polling booth, but the school was transferred from the previous known place to a new place. I was surprised to see that the School was already closed.

I was searching for my name in polling booth 148 list while i was enlisted in 141. After a few frantic calls to home, my mom told me the polling booth and i figured the new place where the school was transferred. Went to the polling booth with the reciept, which identified i was enlisted in the list and the serial number where i belonged. Polling agents inside were really funny.

one of the polling agent was making fun in the polling booth since a friend of his was before me in the line in the polling booth. It was really frustrating to see him doing that in the polling booth as already the presiding election officer was getting confused very easily. I received one 2 slips one for the MLA elections(pink) and another for MP (white). The voting process was fairly simple.

The process was, initally a recording officer presses a button with a machine he holds which is connected to the EVM. The EVM is then activated to accept the vote, and the voter is then expected to press the button corresponding to the symbol of the Party to which he wants to cast the vote. Once the voter presses the voting button on the EVM, there is a beep which would mean the vote is registered.

It was a really simple process. But i was disappointed on the whole on the poor voter turnout.

PS:
Well anyways the list did not contain my mom's and grand ma in it and it was really unfortunate. I took my grandfather to the polling booth, though it was unfortunate he was voting for INC, but i could not deny him his right to vote.

I voted for Dattatreya in center and state i voted for PRP. I really wanted to vote for lok satta but ended up voting for PRP in the state. Anyways voting is already done.

Tirupati -self drive

After a really hectic week, i finally managed to finish my work and had the slack to visit the temple town Tirupati to meet my family who came there to celebrate the "Annaprasana" of my uncle's son. This kid is a really cutie and i like him a lot. The pic here has him in one of his best smiling poses when i was holding.

Well i would write one more blog about the darshan that i had and all that stuff later. But what i really wanted to record was when i was returning from Tirupati, the car that i drove in was really muddy and it did not have any good cloth to clean the windshield. I stopped at a petrol station and asked a person working there if there was something to clean the car windshield. He suggested he had a cloth and i was like, can you please clean this up for me?

I do not know what that guy thought but he went running into the petrol station got a cloth and a small bucket of water and started cleaning it up. I was chatting with this guy about local politics and stuff while he was cleaning it up. My fellow passenger was busy hearing radio sitting in the car. So when it was almost done the guy was asking me to check if the windshield was really clean looking from inside. While i verified it was clean i was asking him for some papers so that i can use them to clean the windshield when needed during the journey. He again went running in and brought some papers.

Now then it was done and i was about to leave and i planned to pay him up. i took 2 ten rupee notes and was about to give him when he said
"If i knew you were going to pay me up i would never have agreed to clean the window in the first place".

Well i have absolutely no words for his generosity. Wel he was realy helpful and taught me a very good lesson. I do not remember his name but i definitely remember his actions and next time when i visit Tirupati again i will definitely meet him up again.

Yamaha Saturday

It was another weekend on the horizon and i was determined to make something out of today. I wanted to do so much but got so little to do.

After growing hair for the last couple of months i decided to get myself a new look by cutting it short. Well it was not really new as i had previously always maintained short hair. After the hair cut i was just lazying around. Plan was to prepare lunch but it was already one and was hungry.

Started reading Detective conan from where i left last. By 2 we decided to go for lunch ( me and my room mates) went to the forum andhra mess, ( we fondly call the andhra mess which is opposite forum as forum andhra mess, i really never cared for the name). Pradeep, Parun's friend wanted to buy FZ-S and after having lunch we went to Yahama show room. Me Pradeep and Parun. Test rode R-15, peeked at R-1 ( worth INR 11.5 lakh). and also drove FZ-S.

R-15 was one bike which i really wanted to ride for quite some time. It was a fun ride, though i felt continuosly driving R-15 might aggravate back pain. R-15 did not have the pick up that i was expecting it would have but was very stylish. FZ-S was a nice bike too though the pickup was definitely a let down.

We spent around 1 hour in the show room to decide which bike and what color would Pradeep be buying. After booking the bike (color Black with Yellow Streak FZ-S) we decided to have coffee. Went to CCD and spent the next 2 hours there. Solar eclipse was the coffee that we ordered. It was a decent one. Time was already 7, when we decided to come out.

From there went to Mega mart where Pradeep was buying some garments and for the next one hour spent the time in the showroom. i was talking to a new friend of mine on phone for the next one hour. She was a teacher at some high school and was telling tales of how school kids now-a-days inspired by movies are proposing. A kid in 9th class proposed to his class mate in her school and she was telling how she handled this situation.

In the mean while we started walking back to room. Traffic on the road leading from forum to my romo was heavy and jammed and we were to lucky to walk rather than coming by any vehicle. When we reached room, ManU was playing Fulham and Fulham was already leading 1-0.

Pradeep was Chelsea fan and Chelsea- Totenham match just started. finished watching this match and was disappointed Chelsea did not score any goal while Tottenham scored. Manu lost 0-2 to Fulham. Seems it has been 150 league matches now before ManU lost 2 consecutive matches.

Arsenal was playing NewCastle and they won 3-1 against them. That was when my friend told me there was Fed Vs Murray and Nadal Vs Roddick today. Put a night out waiting and watching both these matches, blogged about Nadal Vs Roddick and my whole day and now i go to sleep. Adios

Nadal Vs Roddick Indian Well, California SF2 -2009

Nadal Vs Roddick 2009-10 SF2 Indian Wells tournament.

Being a nadal fan i wanted to witness nothing but an outright win for Nadal. First set went without any casualty Nadal making most of the early break that he had earned and Roddick not able to break the first seed.

After watching the Murray Vs Fedex matach i was slightly cautious that Roddick might be clawing his way back into the match in the second set, but Nadal broke him to go up 2-1. I was hoping that Nadal would keep this break and go on to win the match but that was not to be. He immediately got broke and the score was levelled once again.

At this point andy was picking his game up and playing superbly. he was really proving that he would keep his serve. But 2 games later Nadal breaks Roddick again to go up 5-4 and this time it was a real see-saw match. Too many dueces, long rally (surprisingly roddick was playing rally well too), and net points.

It was a real classic encounter showing why Nadal is No.1 now. He runs from one end of the court to another without any worries for each point and in every rally. Finally serving for the match Nadal loses the point and scores get levelled again.

Andy displays one of the marvelous serve game he ever produced, even producing his fastest serve of the tournament so far to go up 6-5. Nadal not known for his serve game still keeps his serve with relative ease. He really played a good serve game this time around to ensure the match was going to the tie-breaker.

I was skeptical that Nadal might not win this tie-breaker and the match may go to the third set as Andy has a great serve and Rafa's serve is something that every tennis follower would know. Serving the first point in the tie-breaker Andy keeps it. Nadal wins his first point but loses his next. At this point it really looked that the game might go to third set, but Andy misses his serve next but keeps his other serve. Score now reads 4-3 to Roddick. Nadal keeps his serve and scores read 5-4. Nadal keeps his serve next to win the match with 6-4, 7-6(4).

Nadal really displayed some great serves and nice rallies and made Roddick eat his words who before the begining of the match was confident of owning the No.1 with his serve game.

In the middle of the match there were some moments where Andy looked like he had no answers for the questions asked by Nadal with his play. It was really Nadal all through. To this tremendous, never say die warrior, I bow and wish him good luck against Murray who seems to have a slight edge over him for the finals.

Blogging with scribefire

Recently i was going through some blogs which were mentioning about various online blog sites being available. I wanted to try out one of these and ended up with Scribefire.

My previous blogging experience was with Windows Livewriter. It was a good tool to compile my blogs offline and publish them with any date i wanted to and was a nice experience.

I was also fascinated to try out one of the suggested online blogging tool and ended up choosing scribefire. Well for very obvious reasons like the reviews and comments i read for the blog saying scribefire is WYSIWYG (well well for those of you like me who have encountered this acronym for the first time let me explain this as "What You See Is What You Get").

Well this is my first blog using scribefire. I am no pro in mentioning how good this blog editor is and stuff. But I can definitely say onething this is amazing. Why cause this is an in browser editor, so you want to start blogging you dont have to hunt for where the application is present, it gives you what tools you need to add any of the attachments you want to add to make your blog look jazzy and stuff like that. Also it allows you to add multiple blogs to your account so that you can publish to multiple blogs at the same time ( i have still not tried this setting).

It allows you to add ads to your site very easily and allows you to choose where you want to add them. On the whole i really like my first experience and hope to use it further.

I just now tried to add a photo and it does not look like its working. na...

I would be experimenting with one more browser before picking my favorite blog editor. Hope to write soon..Technorati Tags: ,

weekend blog

hmm.. boring, jobless, confused weekend. did not know what i wnated to do. Yesterday had some nice time. My frnds from IIT, my hostel mates said we should meet and we decided to have a coffee at Cafe Coffee day 75 kms from my place. i took bike from my friend Arun and met my friends near the BTM signal. From there we started our ride to the CCD, to which i had already been on couple of occassion both at night time.

It was different to go this time during evening time. I just finished my lunch when my friends said we would go there. We started by around 4 and were there by 6 kinda thing. Traffic was heavy and we had some trouble in the beginning. But it was nice. We had a general discussion on how things were got to know my frnd Bhaiya was shifting from his current company to Target.

In this time of uncertainity my frnd has taken a bold day to shift. Well well i wish him good luck.. We started from CCD back at 6 :15 kinda. I had by the way while going up touched 100 kmph couple of times. It was fun to reach 100 kmph when i was alone on the bike. It was apache and i was looking to go beyond 100 kmph but quite did not have the nerve. Well anyways, the trip up was nice.

WHile coming down it was nearly night and the lights from the fellow bikes were quite disturbing. I did kinda 50 kms without a break in kinda 1 hour. on the whole it was nice. From bangalore to touch the mysore road now it has become quite troublesome. There is road repair going on becoz of which while coming down and going up we had some trouble

After coming back, my friends asked me to suggest a place to eat and we ended up having dinner at Wangs kitchen. This is another chinese restaurant i had visited that i think i never get bored of. The other one being the one near marathali.

After having dinner, while en route we decided to pay visit to my newly married frnds place Chintu. He was having some nice drinks and footer was on between Liverpool vs Hull, and we had some nice fun..

After reaching home i was watching Scarface which i started in the afternoon. Al paccino was good like always. later started watching how i met your mother. 4 episodes of this series straight was good. Barney was good like always.

Wel thats how my saturday ended anyways..

Indian Media

Indian media was infamous for the kind of reporting they do. I mean they would report loss of dog of a politician as breaking news. It would be famous for this kind of reporting. But in the recent terrorist attack on Mumbai the way the media, especially NDTV, Times Now, CNN-IBN handled the reporting was too commendable.

When we make fun of the media when it is not doing good, we should also praise when they handle it well. There is a war going now in my room so i am not being able to concentrate on the blog will complete it later.
